Grigori Rasputin
Rasputin was an infamous “holy man” at the time of Tsar Nicholas II’s rule. He was elected as supreme mystic of the court when he was able to save the Tsar and Tsarina’s son, Alexis. Rasputin was eventually assassinated by a group of court conspirators in 1916 for becoming “too powerful” in the court.
