Tsar Nicholas II was the last emperor of Russia. Because of his failure to follow through with his orders, he was forced to abdicate, or leave his position as emperor. Following his abdication, the Bolsheviks, who were members of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party, executed him and his family.
